Peppercorn Olive Oil Bread Dip Recipe

Recipes . . . where pepper grinders and peppercorns are the stars.
OK, well maybe not the stars, but at least one of the key tools and ingredients.

Olive Oil DipHow about an absolutely delicious and very simple spicy peppercorn olive oil bread dip.  This is a great appetizer (and an awesome way to satisfy a midnight craving).  Just make sure you have lots of fresh bread for dipping!

  • Pour 1/4 cup ice pressed raw olive oil into a shallow dish or rimmed plate.  (Technically you can make this recipe with any quality olive oil, but the difference when using ice pressed raw olive oil is like night and day.  See note below.)
  • Gently stir in 1/4* teaspoon of freshly ground mixed peppercorns (see the spice blend recipe at www.spicemills.ca/products/pepper-inspired-recipes/), and 1/8* teaspoon of chili powder or ground chili flakes.  (* more or less . . . to taste)
  • Cut or tear small pieces of fresh bread . . . and dip away!

The pepper (ground & chili) gives this recipe a bit of a bite, and the ice pressed raw olive oil gives it a very distinct clean, fresh flavour.  There is nothing like it . . . Enjoy!!
