Mustard Seed Green Beans Recipe

Recipes . . . where pepper grinders and peppercorns are the stars.
OK, well maybe not the stars, but at least one of the key tools and ingredients.

Mustard Seed Green BeansThis is a wonderfully fresh tasting veggie dish.  It goes with just about anything, but was originally inspired by an East Indian recipe (and it still goes really well with a curry or either of the tandoori dishes on our recipe page).

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound green beans, trimmed at the ends
  • 1/2 medium onion, sliced thinly
  • 1 tablespoon mustard seeds
  • 1/2 whole roasted red pepper, cut in thin strips
  • 1 tsp grapeseed oil
  • squeeze of fresh lemon juice
  • freshly ground Silhouette Blend Peppercorns to taste (from Spicemills.ca)
  • salt to taste

Directions:

  • Heat oil in wok or saute pan.
  • Add green beans, onions, and red pepper and saute on medium heat until onions are opaque and green beans are tender.
  • Add salt, pepper, and fresh lemon juice to taste.
